If you clean the grooves where the capscrews were attached and make sure the cap is installed straight, there will be no leaks. Neither my husband nor I had any trouble putting the lids on properly. They fit nicely in my zippered makeup bag, my husband's makeup bag, and my husband's zippered shaving bag, which vary slightly in size and shape.
