My son-in-law's white LED strip on the top of his camper van was beginning to fade in places. He bought it for me as a replacement. I found this set. Within minutes I was able to take the old one out and put the new one in. I used 12 volt power from an old tape and wrapped the controller in a plastic bag and found a place to hide it with the IR sensor sticking out. So when he turns on the light on his RV's control panel, he turns on a new strip. In addition to controlling color and brightness, it remembers what mode it was in when it was turned off, and reverts to that color and brightness the next time it's turned on. The length is adjustable. Every 2 inches is a cutting point for length adjustment. The strip has a sticky backing if needed, but I left the protective tape on as this camper used a retractable plastic body that attached to the camper.
