I'm definitely not a fan of blue lights. 3 layers of insulating tape is not enough, I will soon switch to insulating tape. I was hoping that the power button would control the speaker function, but that's overkill. That means I had to turn off auto syncing with my phone (it would answer my calls in a different room). You really need to use a phone (which isn't that bad) and my tablet (which is more difficult) for it to be perfect for charging. I like the overall design and the sound is pretty good.
