I didn't have a camera strap before - I used the very thin strap that came with the camera. Since I cruise for a month every year I try to make it easy to pack, use, etc. This scarf strap is the 4th I've bought and tried - 3 of these were returned as they didn't fit. That's the only thing that worked on my camera! I have a compact Panasonic (which was quite expensive despite the size) and this scarf not only fit but was comfortable around my neck. One reviewer said it was flimsy and thought it wouldn't last very long - in my opinion it doesn't! This will be the first year I've taken it on my month-long cruise and I have no regrets purchasing it and recommending it without hesitation! That's a great price and I'll probably buy another one in a different color. The reason other neck straps didn't fit was that they didn't have "clips" to attach the ends of the strap to the sides of the camera (even the more expensive ones, ie around $30).
