I think the 7 inch inseam is a crowd favorite, some guys like shorter track shorts. Personally, I'm a fan of these 7 inch training shorts that have built-in compression shorts underneath a looser outer layer. They're technically made for running, but I also like them for rowing cardio. Built in compression provides comfort and the 7 inch length keeps me from tangling on a boat or rowing brief. It's worth noting that I'm 6ft 4in, 207lbs and have a US XL/Tag 3XL which fits me perfectly. The pockets are spacious enough to easily fit my iPhone XS MAX in them. In general they are of good quality and comfortable to the touch. Just pay attention to the size of the chart.
