I had HTIB and the receiver died. The HTIB came with a passive subwoofer. I replaced the AV Receiver but the new one required a powered subwoofer. I used it to drive a passive subwoofer in my home theater. Although it works I wish I had something else and probably when I get tired of dealing with it. Pros: Sounds great. No hiss, no hum, and it has enough power for my 8" subwoofer. Cons: The power button is built into the volume control. This forces you to adjust the volume every time you turn it on. No auto on/off feature. You can plug it into one of those power strips that do this but if you buy one of those just for that you can also buy an amp that has this feature I needed an RCA to 3.5mm adapter. for this to work. For my application, RCA connections would be fine. The bright red light that comes on when I turn it on is too bright. I can almost use it as a night light. The volume is the only thing you need that can do There is no crossover etc to adjust on other amps The power amp and bulb are burning out my retinas, not to mention I'll probably have to get a new hookup strip so I can turn the car on and off. I wish I had something else.
