I've never been a productive remote worker and never felt the need to update my home office. But as has happened to many of us in this shared reality of COVID-19, work immediately enacted a work-from-home policy. My work involves heavy use of computers, so I struggled to research keyboards, printers, monitors - everything I need to get closer to normal work. I came across this monitor which based on my research is great. The dealer "J-ELECTRONICS" offered it at an unusually good price, and I jumped at the offer. I placed my order on March 20th with a shipping window of March 26th to April 1st. I wish I could get something faster, but I didn't want to leave home and didn't think it made sense to pay for expedited shipping. My order has been processed and I am following it daily. All good reports. On March 25th - 5 clear days after I placed my order and 1 day before the start of the shipping window - I received an email from J-ELECTRONICS stating that although the monitor was listed as available, it was with my purchase and although everything indicated that everything was fine, actually sold out. J-ELECTRONICS offered me an extra $5 for the hassle (if I jumped through a couple of hoops first). I don't know. Such casual corporate indifference is easy. . . sucks. Especially now. I struggled to find a replacement which cost me almost $200 more not including expedited shipping. I wouldn't be at all surprised if J-ELECTRONICS saw the surge in demand for home computing devices and jumped on it by canceling my order to earn a few bucks more from someone else. It seems to happen everywhere. I finally found the time to email J-ELECTRONICS. I mentioned my frustration and said I want them to fix it or I will talk about my experience. At least I could warn the next person who is relying on J-ELECTRONICS to make the listing. The answers I got were crazy. J-ELECTRONICS told me they would not respond to "threats" and "blackmail" and categorically confirmed that they were not prepared to help in any way. They even emailed me quoting definitions of "threat” and "extortion” from the Oxford Dictionary. Craziness. One would hope that companies would feel compelled to honor their commitments, especially in really tough times, but my experience with J-ELECTRONICS was quite the opposite. I would stay away from them. I hope everyone is safe and this will all be over soon.
