The scanner is easy to set up and connect to your home network by following the menu during launch. The scanner will detect available networks and you will need to add any security password. Once that's done, he'll call home to inquire about any available updates and download them for you. I have found that this can take a while but it needs to be done in order to have the latest vehicle information in the scanner library. One of the nice things about this scanner model is that all updates are free as long as you have the scanner and it's supported by Launch. Although I haven't tried this feature, Launch clearly states that they will provide support in terms of options. reports that the vehicle can find a possible cause of the problem. Launch Creader Elite 202 is a good scanner for knowledgeable car enthusiasts. This home scanner provides the information you really need to get to the bottom of the most common problems you might encounter. He makes it clean and understandable. After connecting to the ODBII connector installed in the car and starting the engine, it tries to automatically read the VIN number and display this information as well as other information it receives from the ECU. For example, it informs you whether your vehicle is ready for the emissions test during the statutory annual inspection. It will also tell you if there are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) error messages. To view DTCs, simply select them using the touchscreen. In my case, I was glad I didn't see anything. What I found useful was the ability to record the status of the parameters when everything was working, for future reference in the event of a malfunction. This allows you to see what has changed. One of the interesting features I found was that the scanner checks what protocols are supported by the ECU. This is useful when the vehicle requires other protocols to view other modules in the communication system. It examines the possible protocols available and allows the user to select the desired one. Once selected, a list of PID data or parameters can be selected to view as needed to troubleshoot an existing problem. As you can see in the photo taken by the scanner's onboard camera, there are 63 options that can be selected for display on my 2018 Toyota Camry. These PIDs can be viewed quantitatively and graphically in real-time, and you can also graph up to four (4) PIDs at a time to determine any relationships between them. There are enough navigation devices (buttons), including a touch screen, to provide you with accessible information. The scanner has a slot to increase available memory, but will be available in the future upon request from Launch. Launch also allows you to select two (2) special features for this scanner. The following model allows you to select up to five (5) additional special features. I think this is a good scanner for the price and should be considered by any true car enthusiast or professional mechanic.
