They snap easily into place and are very easy to install

They keep my 1 year old out of closets and places he REALLY wants to go but REALLY shouldn't. With mounts for a variety of uses (e.g. drawers next to walls) you can let your creativity run free. They snap easily into place and are also very easy to install. It's a little hard to see in the pictures, but the center of the lock is a sliding tongue. It slides outward, away from the strap, to detach from the locking tab attached to your case. The sliding tongue has a slight ridge behind it and a few dots for texture, so you can either hook it in with your fingernail (although you hold it fairly briefly) or press the top with your thumb and pull it off. Use another finger or thumb under the now overhanging part of the tongue and the whole part will lift up. It's a quick step once you get the hang of it and now that we've had it installed for 6 months I can do it without a second thought. Also, to the guy who asked, they're not going to grab a grown man out of nowhere, even if he's having a few beers. any permanent. I haven't tried any of the others to be honest, but I'm not sure how another locking design can be as versatile yet so easy to use. It's also worth noting that they're VERY easy to clean up if they manage to catch something (they're in the kitchen so things can get on them). A quick brush stroke knocks all the dirt out of a few crevices on them and they look all white again. With a one-year-old child I have enough to do around the house, I don't need any additional tasks.
