I bought this lantern for my Dad for Christmas. I like that it can be used as a flashlight or lantern. The lantern can stand up or be put on its side and it won't roll around. It is lightweight which would make it great for backpacking and camping. The USB cable that comes with the unit does not come with a power adapter, so you will need to have one if you want to charge unit in an electrical outlet. Also, the provided USB cable will not charge an iPhone. The S hook is convenient for camping. Finally, the lantern has a lot of features and I think my Dad will like it.
