Simple and lightweight. I was pleased that it is more like a 'pad' than just a towel. I still brought a towel with me to lay on top for a little extra padding. I wanted this chair so I could lay on the beach but still be able to read a book in my lap, worked great! I had a lean into it a few times to get the backrest set in the sand, and it does not adjust much lower than sitting, so when I wanted to lay flat, I just scooted down a bit. There is a nice zipper pouch on the backside of the chair for anything that you need secured. Great chair for the price, I would buy it again.
