This product is great when used as intended! I have a 2004 Subaru Forester and the factory cup holders don't fit more than a small coffee mug, so I ordered that I put them on the passenger side to hold a Yeti mug. It fits me quite well, but it's too small to fit all the way in. The hole is deep so backing it up halfway is enough to keep it from spilling, but if you hit the brakes it might not spill. For a regular sized coffee mug, it goes all the way in, so don't worry. A 12oz Yeti also fits completely, it MUST have a center console or something to lean on! So it won't work if you don't and it reclines a bit in my car so I keep a drink in the rear holder if I only have 1 drink I also took it to husband's ram truck and it uses my seat against his console and there in the bigger car he works even better and gives me a cup holder when we travel as he doesn't like to give his! It takes up a few inches of your seat, but it's not enough to bother me.
