Review on 📡 D-130J Original Diamond Vertical Discone Antenna - 10m-23cm: Exceptional Reception and Broad Frequency Coverage by Warren Hess

This scanner antenna fits me and my public safety digital scanner. Signals are received quite well, but not everything is as clear as we would like. This is better than previous scanner antennas I've bought like the SIRIO SD2000N. I only gave this scanner antenna 2 stars because I was hoping for an all metal stainless steel design when I bought this antenna. It turned out that only the upper short elements (rods of the short disk elements) and the whip are made of solid non-hollow metal. All 8 bottom panels are hollow stainless steel, not solid stainless steel as I thought and really hoped for with this external scanner antenna. For this reason I placed an order on eBay with a metal dealer. 3/16" x 36" stainless steel round rods for setting up and making this scanner antenna, which is what I really wanted and expected. I'm planning on removing and getting rid of the cheap 8 amp 32.5 inch hollow floor elements and replacing them with upgraded solid stainless steel elements that I bought on eBay which cost me an additional $33. I have also ordered a Winegard LNA-200 Boost XT digital HDTV preamplifier to try to make the receive frequencies that this scanning antenna can feed my public safety digital scanner better and stronger than now. I need to revive and tune this scanner antenna for extra money to make it what it should be to work and pick up better radio frequencies than it does now. Hopefully my 2 major custom upgrades to this scanner antenna will make me love and appreciate it more than I do now. must be attached and tightened individually with cheap, tiny hex head screws, one for each floor member. Another nice feature I was looking for and hoping for when I bought and received this scanner antenna is the nice threaded design of the base members to make it easy to install on this scanner antenna. The only nicely carved elements on this antenna are (the short rods of the disk elements). Oh, and pause, those are actually solid stainless steel elements, as opposed to the eight 32.5-inch brushed elements, which are hollow stainless steel elements, not solid.
