This magnifier is slightly larger than the product photo. Works well although the built in light doesn't work for me. The flashlight is powered by three small watch batteries (included). I don't know if the problem is with the batteries or with some part of the flashlight itself. There is a switch to turn the light on and off, but no matter how I flip the switch, the light doesn't come on. I removed and reinstalled the batteries but it didn't help. Considering how infrequently I'll be using it, I won't be buying new batteries to see if that's the problem. I didn't really plan for this magnifying glass to have light when I ordered it, so I won't lose sleep because it doesn't work. I only use a table lamp for lighting when I need it. The loupe itself works well and offers good magnification. Usage is slightly different than using a standard magnifier. With a magnifying glass, you move the glass closer or farther from the object you're looking at to adjust the magnification. When you do this, hold it close to your eye and then move the object you're looking at closer or further away to bring it into focus. It works well and is a handy tool that is always at hand. It also looks great with a shiny metal body.
