Phone just doesn't charge reliably - stops charging for no apparent reason

UPDATE: 8/31/2021: I WILL BE RETURNING THIS ITEM Sorry, this item is not working reliably. As mentioned below, it may appear that the phone is charging, but it is not. After struggling with it for a few days, I'm sending it back today. I put the phone back on the charger last night when it said a 53% charge. There was a familiar ping and the reload light glowed a solid pink. Also, a small bold lightning bolt appeared over the battery icon on the phone. I watched it for a few minutes to make sure it was well connected and then went to bed. This morning the phone showed 58% charge despite being charged all night. Apparently he just lost connection after a few minutes on the charging pad, but I was already out of the room. Too bad it just doesn't work. As for the file backup feature, I never bothered to set it up. What is the reason if the charging function does not work? As I said, I'm sending it back today and have already ordered a basic Belkin wireless charger, just like the one I've been using for years. I'm leaving my 2 stars for one reason - so that this review will be seen by those who automatically filter reviews with 1 or 5 stars. Review date: 08/13/2021; Shipped on: 08/06/2021This review is from: 2-in-1 (Fast Wireless Charging + 256GB Photo/Video Backup) - SanDisk Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync (Qi Certified, 10W Fast Charge, Works with iPhone and Android) $126. 00 I read about this device in an online tech magazine and based on the author's rave reviews I went straight to Revain and bought it. Perhaps I should have spent more time reading about some of the issues that others have experienced. I think my problems are similar to what I've read about. I have an iPhone 8 that I've been wirelessly charging for a number of years using a basic wireless charger I got for Christmas a year ago. All this time he worked perfectly until he died recently. So I was looking for a replacement when I discovered the SanDisk ixpand which I am reviewing here. I was happy to get a wireless charger that can also store photos, videos and contacts from my phone. When the SanDisk Ixpand was delivered to me a week ago, I decided to only use the charging function for the time being, as I thought I needed some time. to learn how to sync your charger to be able to download files from your phone. In the week since I received the ixpand charger I have placed my phone on the charger and tried to see if the charger is working properly. I'm not sure. The problems started when I first used the charger. I put the phone on the charger and heard the familiar "ding" indicating the iPhone was charging. In fact, a small lightning bolt was visible on the iPhone's battery icon, indicating that it was charging. I naturally assumed that the phone would be 100% operational within an hour or so. But instead it was as low as it was when charging started (maybe even lower!). I took the phone and put it on the charger, just repeated the process and again it showed that it was charging. But later when I checked it the phone still wasn't charging. Then I read about the light. It seems that if the little pink light is on all the time, then charging is really taking place. However, when the light is blinking, the initial "thing" and the flash mean nothing. The light must be stable. Apparently, the "ringing" is audible even if the phone isn't properly positioned on the charging pad. It's like he starts charging his phone and then realizes he can't. You have to wait a few seconds to make sure the right connection is made to continue charging, i.e. I have to wait a few seconds to make sure the light isn't blinking. Well, that doesn't seem difficult, does it? ? But there is more. Although the light is on all the time, sometimes it seems to blink again for no apparent reason. In other words, charging just stops. It's not clear to me why this is happening, but it certainly is happening. It actually happened about an hour ago, just before I sat down to write this review. Unfortunately, the device did not come with an instruction manual. I heard about the light from one of the Revain reviews here. And after that I watched a video that was about light. Will I keep or return this ixpand wireless charger? Not decided yet. I think if you make sure the light is on solid (not blinking) then the phone is charging. If I continue to have problems with the light flashing for no reason, I will be forced to return the ixpand wireless charger. As for the backup feature (which is why this charger is $126 instead of around $30), I won't mess with it until I'm sure the base charger is working. I only gave this device 2 stars. If I finally decide that it works properly and to reasonable expectations, I'll revise this review and increase the rating.
