It's hard to find a heat-resistant carafe to pour hot water over tea bags. Except for the lid, this one is very good. I thought the lid would be tighter. It seals, but if the contents of the container need to be stirred, you actually have to stir it by shaking it (even if you're holding it up) and the contents will flow out. I bought both 35 oz and 50 oz. The smaller one came with a sponge attached to the handle to clean the inside of the carafe. Pro, Heat Resistant, Unsealed.
