I have used inexpensive fine thread low density plastic valve stem caps that are easy to remove or the top of the cap will come loose if the cap is screwed all the way on will descent. on the valve stem. Not this one. They have fairly thick walls and are well made. They could be even thicker and heavier, but it doesn't look like the manufacturer is trying to shave the dimes with as little plastic as possible. much abuse, constantly soaked in water and often exposed to salt water. A metal cap electro-welded to the valve stem is a simple thing that just caused a major headache. Is not nobody got time for that. Just use good quality plastic valve stem caps and you'll get almost no money for a lifetime supply.
