Review on KYB SM5265 Strut Mount by Jeremy Tyson

I ordered 2 both are different. For example, it was easy to tell that they were made by two different manufacturers. For example, one had zinc-colored (rainbow-colored) studs, the other had black studs. Another example was the gap within the mount itself, which differed between them by about 1/8 inch. I do not want it. I tried my luck and ordered the same KYB bindings from a local store. The details were needed NOW. From 8 KYB bindings I was able to make 1 pair of acceptable bindings. I could have made another pair but this pair looked like they were obviously inferior to the first pair. I have 3 sets of coilovers which is why I could use so many). It took 8 titles to find 2 "Quality" items. It seems like KYB is outsourcing a bunch of different manufacturers and making them all a little bit different. Some boxes were marked "Made in Taiwan" while others were marked "Made in China." It seemed that one of the Chinese options was the best quality of all. My rating for this product? "Uh, not great. Buy a few, make a good pair and return the rest." For the 2 I kept I'd give them 4 or 5 stars, I just haven't installed them yet, so maybe it's premature.
