Size by age doesn't matter to children so here are some actual measurements (inches) of size 8 before washing /9 . I expect some shrinkage. Inseam: 20" - 20.25". Total Length: 27-27.25 inches. For an 8 year old with an average growth curve they probably stretch right and are made for a snug fit Quality - Looks pretty close to what I get from Gap or Old Navy as stated on the label, the only noticeable difference They are about 2 inches longer than the Gap Kids size 6/7 but this is a pre wash comparison with a well worn tear so I would say the size is a bit more expensive but all kids this age are different and some people like the stretchy fit while others prefer a looser fit get.
