I bought this for my resonator guitar mic (the built in piezo sucked and other pickups just didn't pick up the resonator biscuit of this style of guitar). This Shure microphone did it. It sounds pretty clean and authentic, way better than other dodgy little mini mic preamps or acoustic pickups. If you're using it for guitar, it can be difficult to find a place to attach it so it stays secure and doesn't get in the way of your playing. (You can see I've been working on my photos). It is definitely well built for professional use. But since it's a capacitor, you don't want to drop it! I definitely recommend this microphone. pays for the Shure name) - the XLR barrel is heavy. It's built like a tank. That's good for the durability of the jack, but you have to be careful not to hang all of your weight on the rather flimsy mic cable.
