Rancid Fat and Bugs in Diet

This was the second pack of AvoDerm that I bought for my pup McGee have. He did well with the first bag so I didn't expect any problems with the second. The bag arrived on September 13, and about a week later, McGee began refusing food, eating grass, and vomiting. It wasn't every day, but two or three a week. Next week we went to the vet. The vet initially diagnosed bile vomiting syndrome (which means his stomach was empty for too long and he was vomiting bile). I had to feed him small meals 3 times a day along with 5mg of Prevacid once or twice a day. He got better for a few days, but then he vomited again. He still wouldn't eat, and to combat that I fried a whole squash and mashed it up for him. I added 1/2 teaspoon to each feeding to keep him interested. It was still a struggle to get him to eat. My poor little friend felt miserable when eating and didn't want to be around me when I ate his food. We were on 10/31. or 07.11. back to the vet because he was still throwing up. His blood and tests were perfect and there were no other problems. I increased his meals to four or five a day. Jump to last Friday evening (November 13th). Since the beginning of September I have also had severe sinus/allergy problems. However, that night I noticed that my sense of smell was returning and I didn't like the smell coming from the toilet down the hall. I rarely put kibble in his bowl ahead of time, but I've had a busy day and I did this just to remind myself to feed him one last time. When I opened the airtight container I was storing his food in, I noticed a HORRIBLE smell. When I looked in his food bowl I saw BUGS. And adult bugs and what looked like a larva. I almost dropped the bowl. It was at that moment that I realized that THERE was why he hadn't eaten in weeks. The bag was rancid! Again, my poor baby! I ran to the pet store and was recommended a good food which he attacked as soon as I put it in him. The next day we went to the vet and they confirmed that the fat in the feed was bad AND that the bugs and larvae were from the feed. Needless to say, Revain refunded my money perfectly, but the problem really is the AvoDerm treatment site. I have emailed them (phones are closed over the weekend) but as of now (4pm 16th November) there is no response. I'll keep you posted, but I want you to pay me about $200 for vet bills and medication if the parasite test comes back positive. I will never buy their products again.
