Excellent cable! First, I install WiFi hotspots and PoE cameras, where cables often run to the outside. My requirements for the cable are UV resistance, a thick outer jacket for weather protection (ice, snow, wind), shielding, drain wire for grounding, and general build quality. This cable exceeds my requirements on all levels. Now it's THICK stuff. - much thicker than many worked. Once you know what's going on and what to buy and how to compensate, you'll be fine. Do it blindly, without the right tools or research, and you'll get so frustrated you won't want to try cables this way again. You can leave a bad review, and a totally undeserved one, just because you didn't know what you were doing. Here are the general rules: 1. Buy CORRECT shielded connectors. Now, not all RJ45 connectors are created equal. Most are designed to accept a different maximum conductor diameter and/or overall outside diameter (OD). In most cases, OD is the first problem with this cable. The outer diameter of the cable is 7.8 mm. This means your choice of connectors is limited and you need to know how to ovalize the cable jacket before mating/terminating. You may even need to add a small amount of dielectric grease to the very end of the cable jacket for easier insertion. I use and ONLY use Platinum Tools EXO EX RJ45 model 48 external ground connectors. This connector is designed for a maximum outer jacket diameter of 7.75mm, but it's close enough that despite its tight fit, it rewards you with the fact that you don't have to deal with rods or liners. The wires exit at the front of the connector where you can verify the correct wiring order of the TIA 568A/B before termination. Another important point is that this connector allows you to pull the wires and pull through anything to minimize kinks when attaching the cable jacket. The EXO EX crimping tool crimps and cuts conductors in one operation. The possibility of a bad crimp is almost eliminated while you do your part. 2. Buy a REAL band tool. You really have two choices. Use the cord inside the cable to strip the jacket if you don't have or don't want to buy a suitable concentric stripping tool. If you use the "open open" method, you need to make sure the jacket is concentric when you cut it off. A torn sleeve won't help if you try to insert it into the connector! Speaking of band instruments. Again, I use Platinum Tools Cyclops. I use the MAX setting and it cuts fairly well and creates a nice concentric cut. It also cuts through the aluminum screen but not through the waterproof fabric tape that appears to be a cut barrier. In that case, you don't want to flip that AL shield down anyway, otherwise it will make it impossible to connect the cable to any connector. They rely on the ground wire.3. KNOW how to comb kinks. This is CAT6E with very tight turns and thick wire. Some use fingers or a piece of cable jacket. Yes. If you value your thumb and fingers, just use a rounded metal tool such as a hammer. B. a screwdriver shaft to completely remove any kinks at the end of the cable jacket. Be patient.4. If you have a lot of experience and don't mind some bad connections from time to time, you can go for a large shielded CAT6A connector that uses rods/liners, but be prepared to be disappointed as the cable slot will do its best, to hold it The conductors will be perfectly aligned, causing the conductors to twist when the load bar assembly is inserted into the connector. That's why I personally insist on the Platinum Tools EXO EX connectors. Well here is the outer construction of this cable: UV resistant polyethylene jacket, OD 7.8mm, loose cable foil (not mylar coated real foil) tinned copper ground wire cloth wrap/waterproof tape. The conductors are divided into 4 parts. splines. I have run the entire spool of this cable and terminated it to either shielded CAT6 connectors or shielded connectors and have had no problems. The cable doesn't kink as easily as a regular gauge cable, but it does kink when you're not looking. The sheathing is a bit slippery, like it's coated in light wax, but cable lube has been used inside the cable channel. I used dielectric grease on the very edge of the cable jacket going into the connectors. It will not harm your dismissal or result in any humiliation.
