I have been using it for less than a month in conjunction with the D3000, before that I photographed at 18-55 for six months. I bought it for 6990, I got it with a slight front focus. Advantages: 1. Aperture, compared to 18-55, there is much more room for filming, you can use polars without fear of losing shutter speed. Suitable for shooting in any street lighting from morning to evening. In a spacious room on a sunny day - you can, in an apartment with lamps - you can’t do without a flash or a tripod. 2. Satisfactory sharp, not a head, but higher than a whale. 2. The 7-blade rounded diaphragm makes the bokeh soft enough without any pronounced nuts. Although not a champion of beauty. 3. Ring focus motor, allows the ring to manually adjust the focus. 4. Sufficiently strong for non-extreme handling constructive, metal bayonet against plastic in 18-55, there is a rubber o-ring on the bayonet. In this regard, it is better than 18-55. 5. The landing size of the filter is under 52mm. And at 18-55 the same, just removed and rearranged to fix =) 5. After the whale, it fits into a Lowepro 120 bag with a hood. If you put the hood back, then the belt also fits =) Flaws: 1. Autofocus is not as tenacious as that of the same 18-55, it often misses, especially if the target is small and not contrasting. For example, autofocus on a white woven tulle on the window (5mm holes, 1mm threads), it's sunny outside. The whale focuses on the threads, what is adequate in the holes in 80% of cases, the fix is 50/50. Of course, you can tweak the ring. 2. Made in China, assembled well, but if you look closely, you can see the "micron" misalignment of the M / MA switch, the lens hood, when worn, walks a little in the seat by fractions of a mm. The focusing ring also plays a little bit (the main thing is up and down, and not in the directions of rotation, like in 18-55, which makes manual focusing masochistic on the latter). This, of course, does not affect the quality of the pictures. The lid from the kit with 35 turned out to be worse than from the whale, one of the sides snaps into place tightly enough.
