Review on Manfrotto 237HD Heavy Duty Super Clamp by Kimoni Parson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

ok, not ideal for lighting

The main reason for this was that I mount a GoPro on one end and use a Manfrotto Super Clamp on the other end. Using the threaded bolt that came with the clamp, I was able to install the flex arm with relative ease (although it depends on the friction during final tightening to keep from loosening, which isn't ideal). The GoPro is easy to mount with the GoPro tripod mount, so you're good to go. It's not too difficult to bend and aim, but it's hard to tell exactly how it bends. For something like aiming the flash where you don't need to be perfect that's fine, but aiming the camera and holding it exactly is tricky. Also, I mounted this on a cart to take a photo of the cart rolling through the crowd down the sidewalks and when the cart went over bumps or bumps in the sidewalk the vibration caused the rig to sag. Nothing dramatic, but the framing at the end was different - I'd rather use a magic hand crowbar for that.
