Super strong!: Lighting and Studio

Delivery was fast and packaged appropriately. First of all, this thing is STRONG! Looking at it in photos and videos it looks pretty flimsy but rest assured when I say it fits my Nikon D750 with battery grip and Nikon 24-70mm lens with transmitter in the hot shoe! Wow Fits great and works great with the Manfrotto Super Clamp. So far so good with durability. Only time will tell if it will last and stay strong, but for now I have no complaints. Just to be clear, although it's super strong, it's…

Really flexible! - Camera and Photo

I use a pair of these hands to hang my FZ1000 camera over my desk to capture video reviews of tech devices. A pair of Manfrotto clamps attach to my table cage, flexible arms connect to the clamps, and a retractable lamp post connects to flexible arms. I then connect the camera and a couple of LED lights to the pole with three more clamps. When I record a video, I bend my flexible arms to position the camera directly over my desk. When I'm not filming, I bend my arms and pick everything up and…

Super Strong: Mounting Hardware

This is amazing. I bought it with SuperClamp to attach my GoPro to an ocean outrigger canoe so I don't have to use GoPro's adhesive mounts. I needed something strong enough to hold the camera in place when the boat is hurtling through the surf or when the boat capsizes. It has definitely stood the test of time and has never let me down on the water. Since then I've used it for all sorts of odd jobs besides actual studio use, including occasionally as a makeshift tripod for my 50D DSLR. I've had

ok, not ideal for lighting

The main reason for this was that I mount a GoPro on one end and use a Manfrotto Super Clamp on the other end. Using the threaded bolt that came with the clamp, I was able to install the flex arm with relative ease (although it depends on the friction during final tightening to keep from loosening, which isn't ideal). The GoPro is easy to mount with the GoPro tripod mount, so you're good to go. It's not too difficult to bend and aim, but it's hard to tell exactly how it bends. For something…

It can easily hold a pound or two, which is what I use it for.

Please note that there are two different sizes here; 237 - reduced weight and diameter; The 237HD costs a little more but is heavier and has a larger diameter. It can easily hold a pound or two. I use it to add extra light or a tripod flash for macro shots and it works well for that purpose. The only downside I see here is that it can't be mounted on the extra 3/8" socket on my tripod. The Flex Arm has a 1/4-20 male thread on one end for attaching a flashlight, flashlight or other accessory…

Ideal for macro photography on the go!

I always use it with Manfrotto 037 reversible short bolt - replaced 2907 so both ends are tripod mounting screws. I use it for macro photography on the go so I can attach it to the bottom of my camera's tripod screw and the other end can hold my Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT flash and a small softbox. It's great for macro photography (apart from the weight - minus 1 star but it's not designed for that) on the go as it helps keep the flash in place. The product itself will definitely withstand…

Evaluate your needs before purchasing.

I bought this with the intention of using it to support the iPad mini. I bought an iPad case with a tripod mount and tried this flexible mount to hold it in place. However, this didn't turn out well for me as the intended use is for photography. I have changed my original rating from 2 stars to 4. I thought it would be a great idea to put it on the headboard for reading or watching movies at night before bed, but had several issues with that flexible arm. But depending on your intended use of…

Very strong/tough, much more than I expected!

The image on this item isn't quite right - I expected it to be a relatively compact, flexible arm (despite the 'Heavy Duty' label on it). I was very impressed when it arrived and was just as heavy, thick and chewy as it was. The arm itself is almost an inch thick, nearly 2 feet long, over a pound and a half, and very strong. hard to turn. It can definitely hold a flash - I think it can even hold a DSLR (but I'm not going to try!) - the thing is, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not…
