Review on Manfrotto 237HD Heavy Duty Super Clamp by Justin Sherman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It can easily hold a pound or two, which is what I use it for.

Please note that there are two different sizes here; 237 - reduced weight and diameter; The 237HD costs a little more but is heavier and has a larger diameter. It can easily hold a pound or two. I use it to add extra light or a tripod flash for macro shots and it works well for that purpose. The only downside I see here is that it can't be mounted on the extra 3/8" socket on my tripod. The Flex Arm has a 1/4-20 male thread on one end for attaching a flashlight, flashlight or other accessory; However, there is a 3/8-16 female thread on the other end that will not connect to the similar threaded socket on the tripod. You will need a bobby pin (from 3/8-16 to 3/8-16) to connect it to the tripod. While readily available, I think Manfrotto should incorporate them into the flex arm. It would only increase the price slightly (if at all) and make it easier for me to open it up and have to order it separately.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • The list will be long.
