I've read a number of reviews and there's some sort of division and I think I've found some common threads with low star ratings. First off, it's NOT vinyl, it's polyurethane. So it's closer to the Easyweed Super Stretch (or whatever they call it). It takes more heat to set and needs to be peeled cold. A group of people who have problems with flaking use irons and may find it difficult to heat everything sufficiently. Others don't seem to have read the heat settings (printed on the cover) and are using their "verified" HTV settings. It will not work. Polyurethane needs 320F, it won't stick at 305 or 310. The second big "complaint" is that people cut the substrate, not the foil. This is somewhat understandable as HTV is typically full color film on a clear base and this material is a sandwich of color and white adhesive on a clear base. You must put the colored side down. I screwed it up myself and was disappointed until I did a test with a knife and found that mine was the opposite. The PU film is thinner than normal HTV, so if something is needed, a lighter touch. When you can't seem to break through. You're cutting on the wrong side. Haven't used it long enough to see long term wear results but some reviews seem to hold up. I suspect most power users who posted negative reviews were using the HTV heat settings. and didn't realize it was PU. I know a lot of the negative feedback from newbies was on the wrong page. And if you use a household iron, this product may not be for you. People who use heat presses seem to get better results than people with household irons. I suspect this is because household irons don't produce enough even heat and only partially stick together. I think as long as it can withstand many washes this is a winner. It cuts like a dream (when I lifted the film!) and weeds out very easily. Using my manual heat press, I made a second press because I lifted some of it, but it was probably too careful. The back is more sticky than other HTVs and I think it just stretched the t-shirt a little when it was pulled off. Because the plus side of polyurethane is much less toxic than vinyl, it's safe for children (vinyl isn't) and extremely inert. So as long as it's a bonder, it should last a long time.
