I haven't used this product on the couch yet but I've been using it for a week while working on the bed at home. What I like best is the extra space. I was able to place my phone on the side to watch videos while I work. As long as your legs are properly parted, like for me, they are firm and don't crease. I really have no complaints, it's a good size and definitely does its job. I really think it should stand on a flat surface because when I had this stand on my bed, my laptop and everything else would slide and fall off the bed if I moved it a certain way. Otherwise, if it's positioned correctly, you won't have this problem. I recommend you look for an available space for your laptop.
