That's a little weird. It's a little watery for a 'balm', it's more of the thickness of a lotion, you can scoop it up easily and apply it like a lotion, but it's in the bath like a very thick oil or balm. It is then unsealed when you receive it. So if your jar is tipped, it will slowly ooze out the side and cake on top of the screw cap. (Note, does NOT inspire confidence in quality) It has a pleasant but slightly off-odor. It's a bit like menthol, but also a bit like coffee and coconut. Honestly I can't decide if I like it or not. It feels good on your feet again, like a lotion. No more and no less. But an added bonus in the form of a strange, maybe hateful smell.
