Review on 🔧 Revitalize with Match 'N Patch: Realistic Dark Brown Leather Repair Tape by Carol Miller

I would like to try two different leather/vinyl patches before purchasing this tape. I bought one from Revain (see my other reviews). Because the tear on my bench was at or near the seams, patch kits that place fabric under the tear and use vinyl adhesive WILL NOT work. In fact, after applying all the vinyl glue, the tears looked even worse than before. This record was sort of my last hope to cover up some big ugly breaks and keep them from getting worse. Our 4 year old son is autistic and jumps on everything. EVERYONE. DAY. LONG. This leather/vinyl storage bench (which we keep all of his toy trains and tracks on) clearly couldn't handle the amount of climbing and jumping it's had to endure over the past year, although it's of pretty decent quality. (acquired from RC Willey). We're thinking of sending him on a college tour teaching frat boys how to demolish houses faster and more efficiently. If my husband and I threw out and replaced every piece of furniture our son destroyed, we'd already be bankrupt, but we also don't want our house to look like a trash can. Enter this "last hope". ' Ribbon. After the epic failure of my first attempts at repairing cracks with kits, I had VERY low expectations for this product. I figured if it somehow fits together and keeps the tears from getting bigger, that would be a win. In a word, I was very pleasantly surprised and happy with the result! Before I go any further, let me reconcile your expectations with theirs. This is a leather strap. Period. OK? Are we on the same wave? Big. Let us continue. My storage bench is dark brown leather/vinyl so I bought the dark brown version of the strap. The match is certainly not perfect, but close enough! The band is more chocolate colored than our bench which has slightly more red tones but I doubt anything else would be closer. See photo. What I love about this feed is that it's completely foolproof, which I always appreciate. If you can rely on scissors, you can use this product. It was so quick and easy to heal my tears and I'm very happy with the result! You can definitely see it up close, but at 10 feet it's invisible (and I have 20/15 vision in both eyes)! Check out the photos I've included: up close, 7 feet away, and around the room. The guests in our house may not even notice this, which was not the case before! In addition, a leather-like grain is printed on the strap. It's not very distinctive, but I think it's a nice feature. What I don't really like about this tape is 1) It's not a perfect color match, but again close enough. I think it would be better if they offered more colors with subtle color differences. 2) I was hoping that like duct tape it would be a thicker 'stuff' but on the contrary it is very similar to duct tape. y band.3) I want the bottom/sides of the band not to be white. The white edges, while very thin, are definitely visible up close and if they peel off in the future it will be very noticeable. All in all for $9 I'm very happy with the result and would ABSOLUTELY buy it again and recommend it to other buyers if you have the right expectations (that it's TAPE and not leather or vinyl). This saved what was an eyesore and will allow us to keep it for at least another year or so. So far it has allowed our son to climb and jump without even realizing! I hope this helped another poor guy in the same situation! I did NOT receive this item for free or at a discount.
