This thermostat is a factory replacement needed for my wife's GM car. Although the price of this item is slightly higher than other brands that claim to meet OEM specs, the quality and robust construction of this part is far superior and worth the small additional cost. As a former ASE certified mechanic, I know from experience that ACDelco parts are made for GM vehicles and are the best long-term choice. Aftermarket brands "work," but they're always a little different. Sometimes it's just because they don't fit as tight or maybe they're a little different than the original. In conclusion, just use ACDelco parts on GM vehicles and you can't go wrong.
