Review on πŸ”Š Rockville RHSB8 Wall-Mount Swivel Speaker Brackets for Home Theater Bookshelf Speakers, Black by James Stjames

Lame screws and bad speaker mount

I'll start with the design of the mounts - not bad to be honest. With it mounted on a stud I can put a ton of weight on it and nothing bends. This is the only plus of this whole setup. Everything else is a total failure. The screws that come with it are junk. Despite pre-drilling and silicone spray to lubricate the bolt, it still snapped into the wall. Complete garbage. The seller did not help - only offered to exchange for a new set. Why the hell would I get another set of crappy hardware and drive another bolt into my wall? I had to buy a replacement at the store and install it about an inch higher than I originally intended. I'm not a fan of clips that support speakers. You pad them with foam tape and the speakers are held in place by friction. There is nothing in front of the bracket to prevent your speakers from falling. So if the foam hardens or cracks, your speakers will fall to the floor. Let's see how long mine lasts. It's awful to be honest. I overtightened my clamps to ensure my speakers would be damaged over time. but I suppose it's better than a concussion. There is no way to mount the speakers in any position other than straight and level. You have two options for aligning the speakers downward: straight and level or in the lowest position. Anything in between will just slip. I ended up making it work for me, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Pros
  • electronics
Cons
  • boring packaging

May require heavier duty anchors for drywall installation
