Bought as an emergency replacement. It runs smoothly, very slight hum, but that's normal and I have great hearing. Now for the bad news, the bundle of cables that comes out is not that flexible and is quite rigid. It cannot be bent down to avoid hitting the back of the 5.25 inch drive. I would love to give it 5 stars but after plugging everything back in my DVD-RW drive stopped working and then saw the power light on it was off. So I know he chopped off the SATA power cable like I did and then reinstalled it thinking it would hold. It's not like this. But still, for less than $30, it's still a good deal! UPDATE: Last night September 1st the capacitor exploded, some smoke and lightning when I turned off the power. That was enough to disable one port! I hope my system doesn't get fried, but then again I hope so.
