The device has a problem if it cannot detect power or USB fan power, but it also shows significant erratic fluctuations in each USB charger. There doesn't seem to be a way to change the screen orientation since there's no "AAA" screen? Yes, I've tried holding the button down during startup and tried all available screens. Nothing worked. In general, this device was not useful to anyone, and I do not think that a replacement would be better. It's worth noting that it came in a tiny bubble wrap envelope that rattled inside a huge, poorly lined envelope. This is a far cry from the main competitor, which comes in foam, in a steel can, in a cardboard box.
