Boys love it and stay in bed

My friend asked for a weighted blanket for Christmas and I tried to do a little research. I was quickly caught up in the conflicting reviews and found the whole process quite frustrating. Finally, as Christmas approached, I had to be careful and just click Add to Cart on something. I chose this blanket and bedspread. In a show of ignorant bravery, my friend asked for "the heaviest blanket possible." I gave in to conventional wisdom 10% of his body weight. In short, my friend loves the blanket. He talks to me almost every day. I suspect a lot of the love is in the paperback "Minky" cover. It's pretty awesome. He doesn't seem too hot, but remember it's January in Winnipeg, Manitoba. If you're unfamiliar with Winnipeg, we've literally made headlines for being colder than Mars. Google it. I also love the feel of the duvet, but often find it too hot. I'm going through menopause though - if you don't know, google it. All in all we are both very happy with the blanket - and our cats are big fans of it too. I personally like that it's not a cat hair magnet. That was a big problem for me. My other issue was/is - if we're in a raging house fire all the beads will melt and effectively glue us to our mattress. I worry about things like that. My friend says I don't need to worry. Can't comment on durability or washability yet as we haven't had them for so long - and to be honest we're not that clean either. I confirm that the gift wrap (so damn heavy) was a slut, a bed slut, and my already lazy boyfriend stays in bed even longer because he loves her so much. The friend now says that 15 pounds is ideal and that any weight is too much.
