These are good winter boots but not designed for snow. The difference is that snow or water can get into the upper part of the boot. This is not a design flaw. These boots are not designed for this use. Light snowfall, rain puddles, generally not too deep water are great for this. The boots haven't shown much wear yet. The lining is good and you can tell that your child's feet stay warm. The side zip makes it easier to put on and take off the boots. Laces are mostly cosmetic and don't make much of a difference other than initially tightening the boot enough so that the top isn't too open. My son has been using them for a few months now.
