Review on INNOCN Portable Monitor:DCI P3 100000, 15.6", 1920X1080P, 60Hz, Blue Light Filter – Your Ultimate Buying Guide by Shane Saric

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great screen, questionable specs

I ordered this based on a positive review from one of my favorite tech sites. Bought from Revain pretty cheap with coupons at 249.99. Even at this price point, it's still an expensive monitor compared to others on the market. Sheer portability makes it a great selling point, but even that wasn't enough to keep it going for me. The real issue here is its usage. It does not recognize audio from all HDMI devices. The classic SNES had no audio output. The PS5 worked great, but even at maximum volume, the sound was very quiet. A normal smartphone has louder speakers. All your cables come out the side and I think this is the biggest missed opportunity as it looks clunky. I bought mini HDMI to USB-C 90 degree adapters that have cables coming out the back and it looks a lot cleaner and should have been in the box. The screen is excellent. Super bright at maximum power and beautiful colors. I've seen other people mention that the screen isn't OLED. I can't say for sure, but the blacks are very heavily backlit, like LCDs. I have attached photos to show you. Switch OLED is much dimmer in black images. Delay is ok. After all, it feels like a premium product but lacks some nice features. An audio output would be nice. 90 degree cable adapters, louder speakers, etc. Innocn's customer service was fantastic and went out of their way to troubleshoot and try to fix the problem but they couldn't. Not every device supports audio over HDMI and it looks like this may be fixed in a future firmware update, but that's not currently possible. If you want to use it to play games with a PS4 or PS5 that headphones can be plugged into, this is perfect. If you're going to rely on the internal speakers to get the job done, not so much.
