I hung one of these bags on a fan in a small bedroom and left the other in a cup holder in my car where the fans blow on it. The smells in the bedroom are still there, as are the smells in the car. There is almost no effect, if any. If you're expecting to remove odors from a room by putting a bag of charcoal in it, you might be wrong. Just remove/clean the source of the odor, it won't help much.
