The triangular part is a knee pad. This particular safe has a ledge that hangs over the zip to prevent debris from getting in and causing damage. Unzip and you'll see 2 smaller mesh areas as well as a whole pocket to put things in. On the outside/back of the bag there is a mesh for the drink to keep it warm even in the cup holder. No more putting your phone in a box on the center console that constantly gets wet. The installation is very easy. The instructions include pictures showing which 5 screws need to be loosened, washers added and then reinstalled through the bag. I was expecting velcro but this is much better and safer. A++
