I got this as a gift for my wife. She is a registered nurse and does most of her work making home visits to patients she sees regularly. She likes this thermometer very much. It comes with a very nice case. As you can see from the photos, the tip is removable and can be used in the ear for a more accurate reading. It also works without forehead contact, but is not as accurate as the inner ear measurement. The display is very well backlit, making it easy to read even in low light. She also loves the fact that it runs on regular AAA batteries and doesn't need to buy weird batteries to make it work. It also has a nice beeping feature when it has recorded a stable temperature. The sound is very quiet and will not scare anyone. But it can also be switched off. I took some pictures with it in my hand so you can see the size of the device.
