I gave this product 2 stars because it did not work for me. I actually bought 2 of them. My goal was to expand the mouse on my security system. Being 30 feet from my monitor, I need a mouse next to the monitor to control settings and playback. Paved an extra USB port, nothing connected to the mouse. Connected the mouse directly to the DVR, worked perfectly. So I changed the expansion to the 2.1 I bought but this time without going through my attic and walls straight to the DVR everything collapsed. Still nothing when mouse is connected. I'm assuming this extension can't handle data transfer, maybe just a 5V USB expander. to power led light or phone charger. Doesn't work with the mouse. I tried 4 different mice, none worked.
