Why do I need it because it's big.

So I use this to get power from the outlet in my garage 2A security camera outside my garage where there are no outlets around and it works great for that purpose. I don't know how good it is at transmitting information that far, but it doesn't have the power issues needed to run my cheap little security camera and for that purpose it works great. I would recommend it for this purpose.

Doesn't work with computer mouse

I gave this item 2 stars because it didn't fit me. Actually I bought 2 of them. My goal was to lengthen the mouse in my security system. from my monitor I need a mouse next to the monitor to control settings and playback. A USB drive paved, nothing connected to the mouse. I connected the mouse directly to the dashcam and it worked great. Expansion with the second 1 I bought but this time without going through my attic and walls straight to the DVR everything collapsed. still nothing when theโ€ฆ

Not for HD webcams in cables and connections

This cable is good for low bandwidth devices like mouse, keyboard, flash memory, etc. But if you need to stream HD content, this really is the case need 480 Mbps, this is not for you. I'm using a Logitech HD PRO Webcam C920 1080P webcam cable and the video stream often freezes or cuts out. Although the cable didn't work as advertised, I'm not sending it back because it would be too difficult to get it out of my wall. In addition, the repeater is not located in the middle of the cable, as in the

It suits me perfectly.

This is great. I have one computer connected to my film projector in my living room and another computer in my bedroom. All of my external hard drives are connected to the computer in my bedroom. I hate moving my hard drives from one room to another, so investing in a USB extender made sense. Now I don't have to move my hard drives anymore. I just ran a cable from my bedroom to the living room and connected it to my computer in the living room. Now I can watch my saved sports moments, moviesโ€ฆ

Works for low power loads.

I used a cable to connect the Gearmo USB to the 4 port serial adapter that draws 0.135A. The total current is 0.245A, so the cable amplifier consumes 0.11A. The cable gets 4.97V from my computer. and it sends 4.45v to the Gearmo over 50ft of wire. The first 25 feet will tolerate a 0.245A drop 0.335 VR = 1.37 The second 25 feet will tolerate a 0.135A drop 0.185 VR = 1.37 Total voltage drop 0.52V, total R = 2.74 The load gets what is left after the drop of 2.74 ohms. If you have a load of 0.2Aโ€ฆ

I gave this product 2 stars because it did not work for me. I actually bought 2 of them. My goal was to expand the mouse on my security system. Being 30 feet from my monitor, I need a mouse next to the monitor to control settings and playback. Paved an extra USB port, nothing connected to the mouse.
