I gave this item 2 stars because it didn't fit me. Actually I bought 2 of them. My goal was to lengthen the mouse in my security system. from my monitor I need a mouse next to the monitor to control settings and playback. A USB drive paved, nothing connected to the mouse. I connected the mouse directly to the dashcam and it worked great. Expansion with the second 1 I bought but this time without going through my attic and walls straight to the DVR everything collapsed. still nothing when the mouse is connected. I'm assuming this extension can't handle data transfer, maybe just a 5V USB extender to power the LED light or a phone charger. Doesn't work with the mouse. I tried 4 different mice, none worked.
