This is great. I have one computer connected to my film projector in my living room and another computer in my bedroom. All of my external hard drives are connected to the computer in my bedroom. I hate moving my hard drives from one room to another, so investing in a USB extender made sense. Now I don't have to move my hard drives anymore. I just ran a cable from my bedroom to the living room and connected it to my computer in the living room. Now I can watch my saved sports moments, movies, TV shows, etc. without having to move my hard drives anymore. It was a very big investment.
