Definitely consumes enough current to drive a non-CANBUS car to avoid power off or hyper flashing issues when used as a brake light, definitely no resistors required as a brake light. Nice and bright, despite the fact that I bought red and I already have red lenses, it looks nice and bright with normal light spread. When the brakes are applied they will flash 3-4 times quickly and become solid like any other legal 3rd brake light system you see. In other words, it really works, real and bright as advertised, truly plug and play! Great cheap alternative to flashing the 3rd bulb!
