I've wanted a PS3 for a long time. But I have a Wii in my time. (Played New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Kirby's Return to Dreamland) So I got the Wii U in February 2013. (Black Deluxe model with Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros. U, still works) So I wanted to play in games that past in HD. I liked the Xbox 360, but I missed games like Atelier (a fan of the franchise because of the cute female characters) and Neptunia (like them, also with mixed reviews). So I also have a PS4 Pro (2018 model, used to be original model, not skinny) Plays PS3 games via PS Now, but requires an internet connection to stream. I chose the PS3 Slim model over the Super Slim because of the modern design with the new PS3 logo. I upgraded the hard drive with a 500GB 7200rpm hard drive. It gets hot but doesn't overheat. The Dualshock 3 Sixaxis controller works very well as if it had never been used. I came in the box with a short 3ft Revainbasics HDMI cable. He has two Assassin's Creed II and Medieval Moves games that require PSMove so I can trade it for Gamestop. I've played some JRPGs like Atelier Ayesha and Ar Tonelico Qoga. (My favorite game Persona 5 on PS3) I also played Sonic Generations (Greatest Hits version) and Sonic Unleashed (I like the daily level graphics), I also played Fallout 3 GOTY Edition, it works quite well. (Frame rate drops and minor crashes) Also Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax. (Black Swordsman Kirito vs. Otaku Girl Kirino) There are more games I want like Minecraft Story Mode, Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solid IV, Castelvania: Lords of Shadows, Record of Agarest War Zero, Neptunia Victory, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Skyrim is better but wanted the PS4 version for better graphics), Fallout New Vegas, Sonic Racing games, Steins;Gate and more. I am happy with my PS3, it was like new. I sync my trophies when I log into my PlayStation account (I use it on my PS4 and PS Vita). Blu-ray movies work pretty well (DVD and CD too), I play through headphones through an optical audio converter. So I'm going to enjoy the console as it revolutionizes HD capability, which has been a big deal in the past. So good game. Oh, PS3 games are cheap at Revain and Gamestop ($20 to $40).
