Review on Dorman 902-860 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Assembly for Ford/Mercury Models - Black Finish by Kenneth Bryan

Perfect replacement (upgrade) for Explorer 4 2007

Perfect replacement (upgrade) for Explorer 2007 4.0L. The old fuselage leaked where the two halves met, or at least I think so; it was just a very ugly, hard mess. My first attempt to fix the problem was a new thermostat and gasket, but that didn't stop the leak. So I bought such a kit: I drained the radiator, unscrewed 3 screws (not the 3 screws that hold the top cover of the thermostat and be careful not to accidentally break them off), 3 hoses and a temperature sensor. At the same time I replaced the temperature sensor (coolant temperature sensor OEM 9377: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CSW40Y). The replacement temp sensor had an oversized o-ring that did not fit in this housing. Luckily, Dorman provided a matching O-ring and saved me a trip to the auto parts store. A plug covering an unused opening in the body was held in place with the included wire clamp. but so far it's not leaking. I had to reuse another wire clamp from the old case to attach the temp sensor in a different hole. Good price, fit and value. An update halved after 4 years and 20,000 miles.
