After three years of sleeping on an 8 inch mattress that I struggled to get in and out of, our husband and I decided on a larger 11 -Inch Mattress Decided Put an 11" bed on top of an 8" bed and now the "wa la" bed is the right size to get in and out of. Husband says he hasn't slept this well in years. It's soft, so if you like a firm mattress put something hard underneath. It's definitely fun to unroll a mattress in a box. I recommend this product.
