Review on Immerse in Measured Surround Sound: Yamaha YSP-5600 MusicCast Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos/DTS:X by Joy Jones

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not a music lover, average Joe rating, very large custom room

Listing items: - Great for filling large, irregularly shaped rooms with immersive sound without having to install multiple speakers (biggest selling point) - Connects wirelessly to your phone and devices, but requires ARC-HDMI capability for video and audio. Be sure to listen to the reviews and complement this with a subwoofer. While it's large for a soundbar, it complements a large TV quite well. Full instructions are available online and was actually very easy to set up. - If you have an irregularly shaped room, I would recommend skipping the smart tuning feature as suggested in the manual and setting the speaker to stereo. A NOTICE. The speaker won't work until you manually disable the smart settings feature, as it automatically initiates it on first boot if you don't want to use that feature. Double-tap the Settings button to open more menu options. Configured to perform basic functions with the TV remote, so you don't always need two remotes. I chose this rather expensive soundbar for several reasons. I wanted a more immersive sound experience when watching movies and playing video games in my living room, as well as getting rid of a lot of cables. I didn't want to install tons of speakers - be it around the TV or behind the sofa and wanted really good sound, but from a single source - which I will soon be doing given my size and type of living room I found out after a bit of research was asking a lot. My living room has a house style 45 degree pitched ceiling that is about 20 feet high. It is also a very open living room concept, with the living room opening up into an adjoining room and dining/kitchen area. The living room is also aligned in such a way that the sloping roof projects the sound bouncing off the ceiling to the side. Basically a terrible surround sound setup with an irregular shape and lots of space. This column solved that problem for me. I didn't use the smart tuner that came with the speaker and followed the advice in the manual to just set the speaker to stereo (the full manual is available online). Luckily, I wasn't disappointed by the many reviews about this speaker. say the soundbar was second to none in its ability to fill a room. He does it so wonderfully. It's quite a large soundbar, but I personally like its style and think it complements a large TV quite well (I have a Sony 85). The setup was mostly painless. I recommend searching the web for complete instructions. Since the version sent with the product is a stripped down version, my main difficulty was figuring out that I need to turn off the smart settings feature when not in use (otherwise the speaker just throws an error code) and then also make sound play on the TV Speakers when watching Netflix or Hulu in the TV app - The guide was helpful in resolving this issue when configuring HDMI control options as well as TV settings. The HDMI ARC feature is invaluable and so I just have the power cord and an HDMI cable that goes to the TV and then the speaker acts (I only have it on top of the TV stand and my TV is wall mounted ) as a new HDMI cable hub for Blu-ray players, consoles, etc. I adjusted the setting so that the TV remote can control the volume. Speakers, which is handy, but you should have a speaker handy if you need to change HDMI inputs. Overall I am very happy I made this purchase and am satisfied with the sound quality of this speaker.
