First, I see reviews trying to compare them to $300 gear. They cost $53. I bought these to use until I found the right gear for $300. They work great. Armor (foam) in the knees and hips. I don't think the yellow page instructions for knee pads are correct. I've tried and they just won't form. When riding, I don't take off my trail boots and pants to put on a raincoat, so I used waterproof pant spray. I wear light shorts on the I side. The vents work, but to really pump air, the rider has to be standing, which is very handy for off-road riding. Fits well. Yes, shreds could use better placement of the velcro as there is a flap left over when sewn together. Remember $53. I rode off-road all day and they were comfortable, got rid of my usual wallet crap and got in and out of the seats with ease. The seam is too close to the edge of the fabric. I used to work with leather so I knew what to look out for. Had not. I noticed what appeared to be a bad cut on a blunt material/shape cutter that looked like what I saw in the photos in the previous review. So the disadvantage is in the cut (appearance) and not in the line (function). Discreet, and believe me, nobody admires your ass in these pants. And YOU are $53. All in all, I'm considering getting a second set so I can change pants on long trips. I would recommend them and they cost $53. Drive safe.
